I work with adult individuals and couples by integrating a range of theories and practical skills from different psychotherapy traditions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Originally from Ohio in the US, I have lived in Hong Kong since 1995. I am well versed in acculturation issues and have worked successfully with clients from a wide range of countries and cultural backgrounds.
I am a registered clinical psychologist with the Hong Kong Association of Doctors in Clinical Psychology and a registered Practitioner psychologist (Clinical) with the United Kingdom Health and Care Professions Council. I am also on the executive committee of the Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong.
Before focusing on my therapy practice, my first career was as a copywriter and creative director at several well-known advertising agencies. Later, I was an assistant professor lecturing on interpersonal communications, creativity, and psychology at UOW College Hong Kong.
I speak Cantonese in addition to English.
